God can use each one of us for His work, although He does not need anyone. We are valuable, but not indispensable. Being chosen by God is learning to give in, to let go; it is to think like a servant and not behave arrogantly demanding everyone to serve us. Let us remember that Jesus himself was content with the humblest of titles. He was content to be called a servant. We are the axe, the saw, the rod and the staff… we do nothing apart from God’s hand. Blessed is the Christian whose attention is on others and not on himself!
